I enjoyed this book. It was intriguing and kept me interested the entire time. I liked the main characters and thought they were realistic and sympathetic.
I thought the depiction of life and mentality of a small town was spot on. It is easy to see a smaller town, dependent on the good will of a single family, fall under the control of the patriarch. I liked the detectives and enjoyed the little bits of their lives being thrown into the book to add a bit of a break from the main plot line. It made them more likeable and well rounded rather than the stuffy, one dimensional cops you see as a side note to main characters so often.
I think Nele Neuhaus created a fun, interesting read and am looking forward to her other works.
